Location

Leduc is located approximately 20 minutes (33 kilometers) south of Edmonton, Alberta. According to the 2017 municipal census, the population of Leduc is approximately 31,130 residents, making it the tenth most populated city in the province.  It is located off of Queen Elizabeth Highway (Highway 2), Alberta’s major freeway which runs north-south between Edmonton and Calgary.

The economy is heavily supported by the oil and gas industry, as well as trade and commerce within the province. The Nisku Industrial Park and the Leduc Business Park contain over 1,400 business.

The Edmonton International Airport is located immediately north of Leduc. It is the fifth busiest airport in Canada for passenger traffic, serving over 7,500,000 million passengers in 2016 and providing job opportunities and business to the community. 

There is significant development in proximity to the airport, including an enclosed outlet mall located south of Airport Road, that will include 415,000 square feet of retail space and approximately 100 brands. A Costco is also expected to open near the mall.

The Leduc Recreation Centre is located in William F. Lede Park. The facility opened in 2009 and includes an indoor pool, fitness centre and track, and arena. Leduc has a multiple parks and lakes, including Telford Lake, William F. Lede Park, and Leduc Golf and Country Club.

Commercial development includes a No Frills, Co-op, Safeway, Shoppers Drug Mart, Canadian Tire, Sport Chek, Staples, and multiple chain restaurants and retail stores.
